Supplies to keep at home for school projects

If you've ever run to Wal-Mart after dark for posterboard, you are probably a mom helping a procrastinating child finish a school project.

Here's how to avoid the "freak out" run for supplies.  Have these supplies in ONE location in your home, otherwise you are running to the store because, let's be honest, it's easier than tearing apart your house looking for a ruler.

  1. Box of crayons, map pencils, and markers.  These should be kept "off limits" unless your child is working on a project.  Otherwise they will find their way into sink drains, laundry dryers, and at the bottom of toy boxes.
  2. Posterboard.  White.
  3. Glue sticks.  Get at least five because they tend to disintegrate into thin air.
  4. A ruler
  5. Pencils and a pencil sharpener.
  6. Paper: lined and printer paper
  7. Stencil lettering (if your child is a "serious" project creator).
  8. Construction paper
  9. White out.  Trust me.  Get it.
  10. Tape.  Any form of tape will work.
  11. Random cardboard.  Think cereal boxes, tissue boxes, paper towel tubes.

What else can you think of that would come in really handy?
